Nominations open for Scottish Financial Services Awards 2018

The call for nominations has gone out for the 2018 Scottish Financial Services Awards, which recognise the very best in the financial services industry in Scotland.

The winners of the awards, sponsored by EY, will be announced at the Scottish Financial Enterprise Annual Dinner on 25 October 2018 in Glasgow.

In its 32nd year, the SFE Annual Dinner is a key date in the Scottish business calendar with last year’s event attracting 600 senior figures from across the financial services community together with associated business services and government.

Nominations for the Scottish Financial Services Award and the Rising Star Award are open until 31 July 2018.

The Scottish Financial Services Award is open to all Scottish based financial services organisations, individuals or collaborations, and to companies in Scotland providing services to the industry.

Previous entries have included new products and services, technology innovations, customer service improvements and new process solutions as well as community and education initiatives.

Past winners include Edinburgh fintech Nucleus (2017), insurance brokers Clark Thomson (2016) and Royal Bank of Scotland (2015).

The Rising Star Award was established last year to recognise a young professional for their personal success and contribution to the financial services industry. It was awarded to Victoria MacLean of Aberdeen Standard Investments, who has gone on to become the Chairwoman of SFE Young Professionals.

Jim Pettigrew

Jim Pettigrew, Scottish Financial Enterprise Chairman, said: “The Scottish Financial Services Awards celebrate success and the positive impact our industry makes to wider society and the economy.

“We’re delighted EY will once again sponsor the awards, including the Rising Star Award which was established last year. It’s important we nurture the next generation of industry professionals as they are key to our ongoing success.

“SFE welcomes nominations from all Scottish financial services companies and individuals. All finalists will be invited to attend SFE’s Annual Dinner, where the winners will be announced.”

Sue Dawe

Sue Dawe, EY’s head of financial services in Scotland, said: “The Scottish Financial Services Awards offer a fantastic platform for our industry to showcase the very best of its achievements and recognise the young professionals beginning to make their mark as a future leader.

“It is vitally important that we celebrate and share our successes in order to inspire the next generation and continue Scotland’s legacy as world leaders in financial services. We are very proud to sponsor these awards once again in 2018.”
