Scottish law firm Gilson Gray has dramatically increased its office space in Edinburgh following substantial expansion and continued growth ambitions.

The firm has taken over number six Rutland Square – increasing its total office space in the capital to over 13 storeys and its total office footprint to 21,000 sq. ft.

The firm’s litigation team has relocated to the new office space making Gilson Gray the largest occupying tenant on the Square which boasts tenants such as international embassies, private banks and DLA Piper.



Glen Gilson, managing partner at Gilson Gray, says the move is part of the company’s strategic growth plans to become the best law firm in Scotland within the next five years.

Gilson Gray’s success since launch has seen it expand significantly with offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow and East Lothian and with further plans for growth into new areas across the country in the months ahead.

The firm now boasts 150 staff members and around 25 partners.

Gilson Gray was the largest full-service law firm launch in Scottish legal history in 2014 when it opened simultaneously in Glasgow and Edinburgh.

The firm has since enjoyed multi award winning status from the offset receiving accolades such as Law Firm of the Year, Corporate Firm of the Year, Insolvency Firm of the Year, Litigation Firm of the Year and New Scottish Business of the Year across a multitude of different business and legal awards including The Law Awards of Scotland, The Scottish Variety Awards and The ACQ5 legal awards.

Chairman of the group, Glen Gilson has also been recognised as Managing Partner of the Year twice in the last five years, and is recognised as one of the leading figures in Scottish law.

Gilson was notably recently appointed as Vice Chairman of one of Scotland’s most influential organisations, YPO, whose members include some of Scotland’s leading and largest businesses.
