Pension savers seek great investment choice

Greater investment choice would help pension savers be more proactive, according to research.

Of more than 800 members surveyed by digital workplace pension provider Penfold, 69% said they would benefit from more options being made available to them.

Workplace pensions have remained largely unchanged for decades, according to a report in FT Adviser, something that could be addressed by improving what’s on offer.

Penfold chief executive Chris Eastwood said: “Our research suggests people want something different. They want greater control over how their pension is invested, but they also want confidence that they’re making sensible long-term decisions.

“We think the future of pension investing is about meaningful choice, supported by thoughtful guidance. People should be able to build a pension portfolio that reflects what matters to them, while having the tools to invest confidently for the long term.”
