Perthshire vets opens purpose-built premises with RBS backing

A popular veterinary practice has opened a new purpose-built clinic with support from Royal Bank of Scotland.

Struthers and Scott, which has served the community in and around Stirlingshire and Perthshire for more than 60 years, is using the new facility to expand the practice, bringing additional jobs and services to the area.

The development is next to Doune Ponds Community Woodland, a popular area with dog walkers.

The clinic offers onsite parking, a large reception area with dedicated dog and cat waiting areas, nurse room, operating theatre, X-ray and ultra-sound scanning room, and a dental room which boasts an animal dental X-ray machine.

The new larger kennel room is a distance from the cat ward to reduce stress in the feline patients.

Already employing a team of 16, Struthers and Scott has employed an additional

registered veterinary nurse since moving into the new premises.

The new clinic is registered on the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Practice Standards Scheme and is also a Veterinary Nurse Training Practice.

Colin Scott and Ian Rodger own the practice, with Mr Scott acting as the managing partner in Doune.

He said: “With the business continuing to grow, our old premises in Doune was becoming unfit for purpose, and moving to this purpose-built surgery allows better flow of work, which is better all round for clients, staff, and most importantly, our patients. Royal Bank of Scotland has been crucial in allowing us to realise our ambitions, and we thank them for their support.”

Andrew Scott, relationship manager at Royal Bank of Scotland, said:” It has been extremely rewarding to work with a business which provides an essential service to pet owners in Doune and the wider surrounding area. The new premises will give Struthers and Scott the room it needs to continue to grow and serve the community for years to come.

The practice is in the process of planning an open day for this summer, so clients will have the opportunity to fully explore the new clinic and services provided.
