Rangers to launch £12.6m shares issue

Glasgow-based football team Rangers have launched an initiative to bolster the club’s finances by raising up to £12 million via a share issue.

The Govan club revealed that it will address a general meeting of shareholders at the end of this month to make its case and seek approval for the offering.

The total number of shares to be bought is 63,147,137, meaning the value of the offer is £12.6m.

In an official notice, the club said: “The issue of shares will improve the capital base of the company and ensure the ongoing funding of the company is both secure and compliant with all rules affecting football clubs.”
