RBS funding spurs on Stonehaven stable expansion

The British Horse Society approved equestrian centre at Swanley Livery at Bossholes Farm now features a new 60 x 28 metre indoor school and an upgraded 60 x 40 metre outdoor arena, an exercise facility, as well as livery stables for 29 horses.

The newly completed indoor arena will be used by current liveries and will be available for hire to other individuals, clubs and charities. The facility also includes a viewing gallery for up to 80 people.

Established in 2011 as a secondary venture by business partners Janet and Ken Whittaker and Carolynne Lovett, the company provides high quality livery and hacking facilities for local horse owners in the area. Due to its brand new facilities and continued popularity in the local area, there is now a waiting list for its livery stables.

Janet Whittaker, partner at Swanley Livery, said: “What started as a hobby enterprise has quickly developed into a successful and growing business. As the livery side of the company continued to expand, we realised that there was demand for schooling facilities in the area, and have taken care to provide high quality arenas for our liveries. The Royal Bank of Scotland was instrumental in making this project happen, and we are extremely grateful for their support in helping to develop our business.”
