A new veterinary practice has opened its doors in Fife after securing a loan from Royal Bank of Scotland.

Owned by husband-and-wife duo, Hannah and Bruce McKerrow, 3 Bridges Vets provides services and treatments for a wide range of pets and farm animals, from hamsters to horses.

Mrs and Mr McKerrow decided to start the practice after building up their experience working in a range of different veterinary and farming roles. The couple have combined their clinical experience and family history of working in sheep farming to launch the new Dunfermline-based business.

The funding from Royal Bank of Scotland has been used to facilitate necessary building works, including internal fit-out electrical and joinery work.

The Fordell Firs vets boasts a spacious reception area - complete with separate waiting areas for cats and dogs - along with a customer built large animal facility and on-site laboratory.

The practice currently employs 5 members of staff, including skilled veterinary surgeons who provide round the clock care as part of its out of hours service.

Mrs McKerrow said: “We started this venture with the goal of creating a local independent practice that can offer tailored care and a personal touch. I’m incredibly grateful for Royal Bank’s support in making this all possible”.

“Since opening, our business has grown from strength to strength, and we are really looking forward to building up our client base this year by continuing to support the local community in Fife”.

Steven Hunter, regional relationship manager at Royal Bank of Scotland, said: “Hannah and Bruce have a wealth of combined knowledge and experience across both the veterinary sector and farming industry.

“This expertise gives them the unique advantage of understanding the needs and wants of their customers and will help them continue to provide a high-quality service to the local community”.
