RBS strikes $500m settlement deal with New York over mortgage mis-selling scandal

The Royal Bank of Scotland has reached an agreement to settle the latest of its misconduct cases after striking a deal to pay $500 million (£359.7 million) to the American state of New York over the mis-selling of financial products in the lead up to the 2008 global financial crisis.
