Scotland’s first ‘business decelerator’ brings business leaders to online Isle of Bute summit

RESET 2021 aims to guide participants to refresh, recharge and reinvent their futures through a series of interactive and inspirational sessions.

Gib Bulloch founded the Craigberoch Business Decelerator on the Isle of Bute in 2019. Mr Bulloch is an award-winning social intrapreneur, who founded and scaled Accenture Development Partnerships, and is the author of The Intrapreneur: Confessions of a Corporate Insurgent.

Mr Bulloch said: “We’ve had a wake-up call in recent times about the need to change how we live and work. But rather than diving back in to the same old in the new year, as we so often do, try switching it up by stepping back. We’re so busy doing what we’re doing that we’ve lost track of where we’re going. Through our programmes, we hope to show business leaders how accelerating change starts with slowing down.”

RESET 2021 is a free one-day online event, comprising two sessions of hosted activities and spaces, including playful exercises like improv, guided meditation and live music.

The sessions are led by a diverse community of entrepreneurs, intrapreneurs, coaching specialists and innovators who Craigberoch says will “guide and inspire as we individually and collectively imagine the world we want to see in 2021.”

Mr Bulloch added: “We need to create a movement of professional changemakers, reinventing our workplaces and influencing our futures, a movement that is now even more important in the wake of Covid.”

Craigberoch has run a series of both physical and, more recently, online events, attracting a wide range of business professionals from around the world. The rural and idyllic landscape of the Isle of Bute and Scotland’s rich heritage of innovation provide the perfect backdrop for these events.

Diversity of thinking is a core component of the decelerator and Craigberoch is also keen to attract participants from as wide a range of backgrounds and ages as possible, including making a number of free spaces available at all its events for members of the local Isle of Bute Community.
