UK financial services leaders are calling on global investors to take a fresh look at Scotland’s key sectors in advance of Scotland’s global investment summit.
The summit will take place in Edinburgh this October, hosted by Scottish Financial Enterprise and the Lord Mayor of London.
With less than 100 days to go until the event, Lord Mayor Alastair King said the summit offered an opportunity to boost inward investment into Scotland and the UK in key sectors, including financial and professional services, green energy and life sciences.
The global investment summit, which will open with an event at Edinburgh Castle on October 6, will bring together major international investors, UK business leaders, politicians and policymakers to help unlock the next wave of economic growth for our key sectors.
The initiative, which is being delivered by Scottish Financial Enterprise and the City of London Corporation, has also received the backing of the UK and Scottish Governments.
The Lord Mayor of London, Alastair King DL, said: “There are now less than 100 days until the Global Investment Summit, which will boost investment into key sectors in Scotland and the UK.
“Scotland has a rich history of innovation and global leadership. People in Scotland have shaped the global financial system, providing significant advances in life sciences and renewable technology – and our goal is to make sure international investors are now aware of our future opportunities too.
“Scotland today stands at the forefront of the global net zero transition, is a leader in health tech and research, and has a thriving financial and professional services industry. The Global Investment Summit – promoted by the City of London Corporation and Scottish Financial Enterprise, and backed by the UK and Scottish governments, along with a wide range of partners - will provide investors with a unique insight and direct connections to the opportunities that can be found in our key sectors.”
