Scottish Equity Partners appoints new co-managing partners

Scottish Equity Partners (SEP) has announced a significant leadership transition, appointing new co-managing partners as part of its long-term succession plan.

Calum Paterson, who has led the firm as managing partner since co-founding it in 2000, will move to the role of chairman and senior partner. During his tenure, SEP has raised seven funds, managed investments in over 160 businesses, and successfully transitioned from a venture capital focus to become a growth investor in European software companies. Mr Paterson is also a former chair of the BVCA.

Succeeding him are Angus Conroy and Keith Davidson, who have been appointed Co-Managing Partners. Both have been instrumental in shaping the firm’s strategy over the last decade, leading investments in notable software companies such as AutoRek, FundApps, and Dotmatics.

Further promotions include Fraser McLatchie, a long-serving senior team member, who has been appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO). In the investment team, Director Tim Ankers has been promoted to Partner.

Calum Paterson commented on the changes: “Angus and Keith have played key roles in our investment team and will do a great job together as Managing Partners, with the strong support of our broader partner group and excellent team. This is a natural evolution for the firm, and we are all looking forward to the next chapter in SEP’s journey.”

The firm stated that the new leadership structure underscores its commitment to remaining a partner of choice for ambitious technology companies across the UK and Europe.
