Scottish ice cream brand Equi’s has launched four Equi’s flavours into 67 Tesco stores across Scotland.

The deal represents a major step forward in Equi’s Ice Cream’s growth journey, dramatically increasing its reach to Scots, bringing its premium ice cream to more consumers across the country. It also plays a key role in the brand’s strategy to achieve £6 million in turnover by 2028, underpinned by a targeted 25% year-on-year growth rate.

This latest listing further strengthens Equi’s position within the premium ice cream category and supports its longer-term ambitions to expand across the UK and into international markets.

The range launching in selected Tesco stores includes four of Equi’s best-selling flavours: Madagascan Vanilla, Raspberry Ripple, Pistachio Swirl, and Scottish Tablet.

All Equi’s flavours are made using high-quality ingredients, including locally sourced whole milk and double cream from Scottish farms, staying true to the brand’s heritage and commitment to excellence.

To meet growing demand, Equi’s has made a substantial investment in its production capabilities at its Rutherglen facility, combining increased capacity with a major push into sustainability with the use of solar panels and the introduction of cutting-edge robotic technology. These advancements will enhance efficiency, support future growth, and reduce the company’s environmental footprint.

David Equi, CEO of Equi’s Ice Cream, said: “This is a landmark moment for our business. Securing a listing with Tesco, our biggest account to date, is a huge achievement and a testament to the strength of our brand and product.

“We’ve built Equi’s over four generations with a focus on quality, craftsmanship, and supporting local suppliers, and we’re incredibly proud to now bring our Italian heritage ice cream to even more customers across Scotland.

“This partnership not only creates immediate scale for us, but also plays a crucial role in helping us achieve our long-term ambition of reaching £6 million turnover by 2028.”

Equi’s Ice Cream is now stocked in most major supermarket retailers across Scotland, with further listings and expansion plans in development.
