The move sees 13 legal advisors and partners now based in Glasgow. A significant development, the opening of the Glasgow office to complement the firm’s long-established successful operation in Edinburgh.

Barry McKeown said: “I am very pleased to see our expanding team of talented lawyers and support staff moving into our new Glasgow premises at The Garment Factory. Though we’ve worked from a small hub on West Regent Street since 2019, this lease of significant attractive office space in the heart of Glasgow marks a step-change in our operation and ambitions in the West of Scotland”.

“This includes a concerted drive to further add to our legal headcount to service key sectors, working with our Edinburgh teams and UK-wide colleagues to deliver superb legal and commercial advice”.

Janette Speed, newly appointed head of Scotland for Shoosmiths, added: “Shoosmiths has a terrific blue-chip client base in Scotland. It’s testament to the sustained hard work of our talented and growing legal team that we also have a very robust pipeline of new business in Glasgow. A proud city that will soon host COP26, I believe it offers very exciting opportunities for progressive businesses like Shoosmiths in the months and years ahead.”
