Small Scottish finance firm takes on industry heavyweights with five award nods

A small Scottish finance firm is taking on industry heavyweights after being nominated for five awards at a prestigious event

Channel Finance Group, led by Michael Savage, was shortlisted for five awards at the National Association of Commercial Finance Brokers (NACFB), competing against industry giants such as PMD Business Finance, which has reported to have advanced more than £1.5bn in funding to more than 14,000 businesses and Aria Finance, which formed in 2022 following the merger of Enterprise Finance and Vantage Finance.

FRP Real Estate Advisory, a division of FRP Advisory, has also received three nominations for development finance broker of the year (4+ brokers), commercial mortgage broker of the year (4+ brokers) and bridging finance broker of the year (4+ brokers).

Meanwhile, Glasgow-based Channel Finance was shortlisted for the intermediary excellence award 2026, development finance broker of the year 2026
asset finance & leasing broker of the year 2026, bridging finance broker of the year 2026 and Scottish broker of the year 2026.

The Scottish Broker of the year will see them compete against: Polmont based Ascendancy Finance, Aberdeen based Drummond Finance, Coatbridge based Futurity Finance, Glasgow based Kirkwood Asset Finance, Inverness based Pathway Commercial Finance and East Kilbridge based Ross Commercial Finance.

Mr Savage said: “These nominations are about far more than awards. They represent every client who has trusted us with their ambitions, every lending partner who has worked alongside us, and every member of the Channel Group family, past and present, who has helped shape the culture we are so proud of today.”
