St Andrew’s business owners Glenn Malloy & Steve Davies have today announced the expansion of their popular retail offering in the St Andrews lifestyle store and cafe, Spoiled Life, with plans to open a new store on the horizon.

The three-level store, established in February 2020, just as the pandemic was looming, is now stocking clothing lines, footwear and accessories from 11 designers with enquiries from customers coming from all over Scotland. With the addition of clothing, Glenn and Steve hope to broaden the store’s appeal to their existing customers, while catering to new shoppers via footfall to the store and traffic to the website. The clothing launch signifies the next exciting leg of a long journey for the Spoiled Life brand,

The pandemic brought significant challenges for Spoiled Life, located only a few metres away from Spoiled Hairdressing, Steve and Glenn’s original business venture. Instead of allowing customers to browse the lifestyle and homewares offering within the quirky space on Greyfriars Garden, the team expanded their online retail offering and sold take-away cakes and coffees, serving over 300 customers daily from their make-shift doorway stall.

The Spring clothing collection includes two mens brands: Kestin, La Paz, five womens: Thinking Mu, Sancia, Otto D’ame, Idano, Hartford, and footwear and accessories from: Flamingos Life, Sleepers Shoes, DMY by DMY and HVISK. Each brands’ unique heritage ranges from Scotland to Australia with a few chic European stops along the way. The team plans to add many more brands to the portfolio for the Fall/Winter 2022 season.

Co-owner Glenn Malloy said: “St Andrews is multicultural and bursting with tourism. We’ve lost count of the students, locals and tourists that have walked through the doors looking for something a bit different. The clothing offering will be a breath of fresh air for our customers, who already trust our eye for style. The Spring collection is truly chic. We’ve created the perfect capsule wardrobe which oozes elegance, bursting with laid back Summer looks and a few stand out, wow factor pieces. Each is timeless, can be dressed up or down and paired with our stunning accessories. We’re thrilled to extend our elegant vision beyond customers’ homes and into their wardrobes.”

The Spoiled brand has existing connections to St Andrews’ fashion scene, as the team often volunteer to style models’ hair for the St Andrews University’s Don’t Walk charity fashion shows and recently partnered with the charity to host glamorous pop-ups and photoshoots.

Always a dream of Steve and Glenn, the decision was made to launch a cafe and lifestyle shop whilst the duo were travelling around Europe. In line with the store’s aesthetic, it’s fitting that the first clothing drop reflects their love for travel and European trends. Hand-picked by the passionate pair, along with Store Manager Juliet Downes, the new clothing is available to buy on the website and in the lower ground level of the store.

Styling tips and advice will be offered to customers by store manager Juliet Downes. She added: “The brands we have on board are each unique in their own way. We’ve already had enquiries from customers from as far as Edinburgh and Aberdeen as many of the brands aren’t stocked in other stores in Scotland.”
