STEP enhances support for rural businesses with new advisor

Traci Titterington

Business support organisation Stirling Enterprise Park (STEP) has appointed Traci Titterington as its new rural business adviser, in a move to bolster the rural business sector in Stirling, which comprises 47% of the region’s business community.

Ms Titterington brings a wealth of experience in retail and customer service to the role, qualities which she will utilise to assist rural businesses in the region. Previously an area manager, she will employ her know-how to assist rural entrepreneurs in Stirling, providing bespoke advice and exploring potential opportunities to enhance their success.

This appointment is facilitated by financial assistance from Stirling Council and the UK government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund. The latter, a key component of the government’s Levelling Up initiative, has pledged £2.6 billion by March 2025 to aid local investment, communities, businesses and skills development.

Ms Titterington joins an established team of Business Advisers at STEP, who are already providing exceptional support to Stirling businesses. The collective skills and expertise of the team offers a variety of support services to businesses. This ranges from HR and recruitment guidance, to advice on marketing, IT, and digital infrastructure.

Expressing her enthusiasm, Ms Titterington said: “I am thrilled to join the incredible team at STEP and support the rural businesses of Stirling.

“Having experienced the rewards and challenges of the retail sector and as a small business owner myself, I am eager to share my knowledge and help entrepreneurs achieve their goals.”

Mike Barclay, director of business support at STEP, said: “Traci’s expertise and strong communication skills make her an invaluable addition to our team.

“With her on board, alongside our experienced Business Advisers, we can provide even more accessible and tailored support to rural entrepreneurs in Stirling.”
