Strathclyde alumnus appointed finance secretary in Guyana

A finance graduate from University of Strathclyde has been appointed as as a finance secretary in Guyana’s Ministry of Finance.

Michael B. Joseph, who holds a Master’s degree in finance from the Scottish university, was appointed late last year, Stabroek News reports.

He has previously served as budget director and director of finance with the Ministry of Finance in Saint Lucia, as well as holding various private sector roles.



A spokesperson for Guyana’s Ministry of Finance said: “Joseph’s tripartite private sector, public sector and project management conditioning within a Caribbean space, makes him a proper fit for the challenges of the Office of Finance Secretary pursuant to the good life on the horizon.”
