Strathclyde University helps promote exporting opportunities in the energy sector

The University of Strathclyde helped to promote exporting opportunities for company in the energy sector at a drop-in hub in the new Glasgow City Innovation District.

The “Exporting is Great” export hub pulled up outside the university’s Technology & Innovation Centre and Inovo Building ahead of the upcoming Energy Exports Conference in Aberdeen next month.

International Trade Secretary Dr Liam Fox visited the hub on Friday morning to speak to representatives of local businesses.

Adrian Gillespie, chief commercial officer for the University of Strathclyde, said: “Glasgow and Scotland boast huge strengths in the energy sector, particularly in offshore energy, with the University of Strathclyde playing a leading role in advancing the energy systems of the future.

“We are delighted to host this visit by the Export Hub and give businesses and researchers located within and around the Glasgow City Innovation District a great insight into the opportunities for exporting Scotland’s expertise, products and services in this sector.”
