Strathmore Golf Centre brought to market for offers over £1.4 million

Strathmore Golf Centre in Perthshire has been brought to the market for offers over £1.4 million.

The award-winning gold club extends over more than 150 acres, features an 18-hole course, a 9-hole par 3 course, a clubhouse with bar and restaurant, plus practice facilities.

The current owners have decided to retire and have put the golf course on the market with Colliers, which is marketing the property and business as a going concern with goodwill and trade contents, The Herald reports.

Robert Smithson, senior surveyor, said: “This is a rare opportunity to buy an established, award winning golf course which is a successful business in its own right with strong membership and impressive visiting player income, and which also offers potential for further development.”

He said that the potential opportunities included the development of holiday accommodation, subject to planning permission.

Mr Smithson added: “Although now lapsed, outline planning permission was granted in 2008 for the construction of new leisure facilities which included a hotel, gym, new clubhouse, and chalet/lodge accommodation together with a new manager’s house.”

The Strathmore Golf Centre was voted Scotland’s “best golf experience” in the 2016 and 2017 Scottish Golf Tourism Awards (under £50 Category) and features the 18-hole 72-par Rannaleroch Course, which was designed by John Salveson and opened in 1996 by Scottish professional golfer Kathryn Marshall-imrie.
