Last year, the firm more than doubled the size of its office space in the city with a move across St Vincent Street and at the time signalled its intent to continue to grow its offering in Glasgow, having opened an office there in 2011.

His arrival at Turcan Connell (from Lindsays) as a tax and succession specialist supplements the firm’s Glasgow expertise in this area and he joins Partner, Peter Littlefield and associate, Simran Panesar-Saggu in spearheading this area of law.

Mr Murrin, who has 12 years’ experience in Tax and Succession and Family Law, said: “This was an exceptional opportunity to join the country’s leading Private Client firm and one I was very pleased to accept. I’m relishing the chance to add my own insights into the specific requirements of the Glasgow market and to working with the rest of the team as we continue to increase Turcan Connell’s footprint in the west.”

The Glasgow team also includes Divorce and Family Partner, Noel Ferry and Business Law Partner Jack Gardiner, as well as Land and Property specialist, Senior Associate, Stuart Gibb.

Peter Littlefield, who heads up the Glasgow office, said: “We are delighted to welcome Pete to the firm. He brings with him a wealth of experience and will add valuable insight to our continued development in the Glasgow marketplace. Client demand continues to rise in the west of Scotland and through strategic lateral hires we have ensured we offer our full range of services in the city.”

Set up in 1997 as a specialist Private Client firm, Turcan Connell has 23 Partners and approximately 200 staff based in Glasgow, Edinburgh and London.
