Three new directors appointed to Scottish Renewables

Three directors have been appointed to the board of Scottish Renewables, including the Scottish National Investment Bank’s executive director for sustainable investment, Jimmy Williamson.

Mr Williamson joins the board alongside Gillian Noble, managing director for onshore origination and development at ScottishPower Renewables, while Susie Lind, partner in energy and infrastructure at CMS UK, has been re-elected for another term.

The directors were chosen by more than 380 member organisations of the industry body for renewable energy in Scotland to each serve a three-year term.

Iain Sinclair, vice-chair of Scottish Renewables and executive director at Energy Global, and Kate Turner, group director of policy and external affairs at Windward Energy, are standing down from the board.

Adam Morrison, UK country manager at Ocean Winds, is to step down as chair in March but will remain on the board.

Claire Mack, chief executive of Scottish Renewables, said: “I want to extend my congratulations to Susie, Gillian and Jimmy on their successful appointment to the board of Scottish Renewables and to the wider candidates who took part in the election.

“At Scottish Renewables, we pride ourselves on having a membership and board that reflects the breadth of activity in our industry. Susie, Gillian and Jimmy will each bring valuable expertise across legal services, project development and investment.

“The board of Scottish Renewables has an important role in providing clear leadership to the sector so that its full potential in the energy transition can be maximised. I’m thrilled that Susie will return to the board from her new role at CMS and I look forward to working closely with Gillian and Jimmy.

“It remains a momentous time for the industry as we design the frameworks which will underpin our long-term growth whilst navigating near-term hurdles.”

She added: “The past five years have been a period of significant growth and challenge, and I want to pay tribute to Adam Morrison who has been unwavering in support to the organisation during that time as our chair.

“Can I also thank Iain Sinclair and Kate Turner for their significant support to Scottish Renewables.

“I’m pleased that Adam will remain on the board whilst he takes on a new and pivotal role as chair of the Offshore Wind Industry Council, helping to strengthen joint working across the UK.”
