Tilney Bestinvest has restructured the management of its Scottish operation and further strengthened its offering with the hiring of Harry Morgan in the new role of director of key clients for Scotland.

Morgan, the much-travelled private client fund manager in Edinburgh, is joining Tilney from Anderson Strathern Asset Management where he was made chief investment officer 16 months ago having spent two years in the same role at Thomas Miller Investment in the capital.

He was previously head of investment management at Adam & Co, and head of private clients at Newton and Edinburgh Fund Managers.

Mr Morgan will report to Paul Frame who has been made managing director for the whole of Tilney’s Scottish business, having previously been MD of the firm’s Glasgow office.

Mr Frame described Mr Morgan as a “high calibre hire” and said:With 55 people in Edinburgh and Glasgow responsible for over £1.5 billion of assets, we already have a significant presence in Scotland and have been investing in the business with seven new hires since summer last year.

“We are deeply committed to Scotland and see excellent opportunities to support private clients, financial advisers, charities and the legal community where we are proud to have recently been appointed a strategic partner of the Law Society of Scotland.”
