The Top 100 Young CAs list for 2019 recognises chartered accountants who excel in the areas of technology, trust and talent.

The CAs selected in this year’s list all faced a rigorous judging process focused on finding young professionals who are outstanding in their field.  An overall winner – the One Young CA 2019 – will be chosen from the top 100 list and announced at a special event in London on 11 September.

Winners in each of the three categories of technology, trust and talent will also be announced.

ICAS chief executive, Bruce Cartwright CA, said: “I would like to congratulate all of the exceptional CAs who made it on to this year’s Top 100 Young CAs list.

“It is a great achievement to make it onto the list and it presents a wonderful chance for these talented young CAs to be recognised by their peers.

“The accountancy and finance professions, along with the wider business industry, are facing an unprecedented amount of uncertainty at the moment. A rocky political landscape combined with a turbulent economy and leaps in the advancement of technology may be cause for concern for some.

“Having read the names included in this year’s list and heard some of the stories of thosewho have been nominated I can say that I am confident that our future will be in safe hands.”

For the 2019 programme, nominations were invited from the CAs themselves and from their peers.

The three categories of technology, trust and talent in the 2019 programme represent theareas of focus for the CA Agenda, a new thought leadership initiative launched by ICAS earlier this year.

There were 65 CAs successfully nominated in the talent category, 22 in trust and 13 in technology.

The winners come from 35 cities across the world, with the highest concentration of winners coming out of London (21) followed by Glasgow (20) and Edinburgh (14).

Technology is transforming the accountancy profession and the world in which it operates, and the pace of change is only going to accelerate.

Trust – in accountancy, in business and in society – has become a critical issue in which accountants are stepping up to play a part.

Talent is a theme that runs through all of the other issues that the profession is facing.
