Investment management firm Trillium Asset Management has appointed three new members of staff to its Edinburgh office.

The firm welcomes Andrea Zdanaviciute as an Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) research specialist, Melanie Miao as an investment analyst and Vickie Little as office manager and investment assistant.

Backed by Perpetual Limited, one of Australia’s leading financial services groups, these hires provide the opportunity for Trillium to further broaden its product offering and deliver ESG investment and shareholder advocacy to clients globally.

In alignment with building out the team and extending capabilities to new markets, a suite of global ESG-focused equities strategies will be launched, backed by a global distribution and a local compliance team based in London and Edinburgh.

Andrea Zdanaviciute, who joined the team last month, brings over 10 years’ experience of working in private and public sectors, spanning banking, financial stability, research, change management, behavioural insights, and sustainable finance segments. Andrea previously worked in Sustainable Finance for the United Nations.

Earlier in her career, she was Head of Research and Analytics at fin-tech start-up Liquidatum. Reporting to Jamie Mariani, portfolio manager at Trillium, Andrea works collaboratively with the Trillium ESG specialists based in the United States on the implementation of all aspects of the related ESG process.

Melanie Miao, joins at the end of October from Ruffer LLP where she was a Research Associate in the Global Equities Team. In this role, she conducted detailed bottom-up research, analysis, and evaluation of long-only, concentrated positions.

Ms Miao brings a wealth of experience with working on ESG issues, from active ownership activities, including engagement and voting to in-depth ESG analysis of sectors and companies. Reporting to Ian Warmerdam, lead portfolio manager at Trillium, she will play a significant role evaluating potential investments and shaping global portfolios.

Vickie Little started at Trillium last month as office manager and investment assistant and reports to Jamie Mariani. She has 10 years of experience in the asset management industry, including roles in UK Wholesale market support roles at Standard Life Investments and Standard Life Aberdeen.

Jamie Mariani said: “We are delighted to welcome Andrea, Melanie, and Vickie to join us in our mission of providing investors with access to our world-class ESG investment process. Their industry knowledge offers a diverse range of experience and perspectives which will ultimately benefit our clients’ portfolios. We are pleased Trillium’s strong heritage and robust, proven investment process has garnered the attention of exceptional talent as we strengthen our footprint and further build out our offering.”
