Warburg Pincus and CD&R closes in on buying Canaccord Wealth
Canaccord Wealth has an office on London's Wood Street
Private equity firms Warburg Pincus and Clayton Dubliner & Rice (CD&R) are in advanced talks to buy Canaccord Wealth.
The firms are discussing a joint takeover of Canaccord Genuity’s British Wealth arm and have emerged as the leading bidder as part of an auction process launched by the group last year, according to the FT.
BlackRock owned private credit firm, HPS Investment Partners, are expected to sell its shares as part of any transaction and has held a minority stake in Canaccord Wealth since 2021.
It comes after the Canaccord Wealth snapped up Midlands-based EFG Harris Allday, which manages £3.1bn of clients assets operating across offices in Birmingham, Shrewsbury and London last month.
The wealth division of Canaccord Genuity was valued at more than £1bn according to reports in October 2025. It provides investment management, financial planning and wealth advisory services to private clients in Britain and internationally. Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management has two Scottish offices located in Edinburgh and Glasgow.
At the time, it was reported CD&R, Bain Capital and Centerbridge were among the firms considering a deal for the business.
