Womble Bond Dickinson announces senior promotions in Edinburgh

(L-R): Chris McLauchlan, Lisa Dromgoole and Emily Pike

Womble Bond Dickinson (WBD) has confirmed three senior promotions in Scotland as part of its UK-wide growth.

Chris McLauchlan, Lisa Dromgoole and Emily Pike from the firm’s Edinburgh office have been appointed as partners.

Mr McLauchlan leads the WBD Scottish banking practice, acting for lenders and borrowers on real estate finance, acquisition finance, asset-based finance, ESG lending and restructuring deals. He has extensive experience in cross-border financing.

Ms Dromgoole leads the WBD Scottish contentious construction and engineering practice and has an impressive track record in all forms of high value and complex dispute resolution, from adjudication and arbitration to litigation, mediation and other forms of ADR.

Ms Pike is an experienced private client lawyer specialising in providing personal legal advice on wills, trusts and estate planning, with a diverse client base that includes business owners, entrepreneurs, family offices and landed estates. She also advises banks, insurance companies and professional trustees, both onshore and offshore. She is dual qualified in Scotland and England & Wales.

John Ralph, head of WBD’s Edinburgh office, said: “I am delighted with the promotions of Chris, Lisa and Emily to partner, which are extremely well deserved.

“These talented lawyers have significantly broadened the range of services that we offer in Scotland. They have all made, and will continue to make, a significant contribution to the delivery of our growth ambitions in Scotland.”

The promotions in Edinburgh are part of a wider raft of promotions across WBD’s offices in the UK – including 10 partner and three legal director promotions.

Paul Stewart, UK managing partner at WBD, said: “I am delighted to offer my congratulations to all of our new partners and legal directors, whose hard work, commitment and contribution to the growth of our business deserves to be recognised and celebrated.

“Being able to reward those who have demonstrated such passion and expertise is an absolute pleasure, and I look forward to seeing our new partners and legal directors thrive in their new roles.”
