And finally…marital rivalry sees wife scoop £80,000 after late goal

A Scottish woman who was playing Sky Sports’ football score-predictor game just to beat her husband has scooped £80,000 -and beaten her husband.

Lynn Kemp, a risk analyst from Longniddry, near Edinburgh, entered the TV broadcaster’s Super Six predictor, in which players have to correctly guess the scores of six Premier League matches to try to win a share of the £250,000 prize.

A late goal for Hull City against Manchester City was the goal which earned Ms Kemp a three-way split of the prize money.

She said: “I only really play the game to beat Colin, my husband. He plays it every week and this is only the sixth or seventh time I’ve actually done it.”

Ms Kemp was on a break in Lewis when the goal scored by Hull City’s Italian defender Andrea Ranocchia hit the net.

She said she’d only been playing the game for six weeks before hitting the jackpot, saying: “I had three missed calls so I wanted to check my scores just in case. When I finally got signal at 6pm I screamed when I saw that I’d won the jackpot. I woke my daughter up who was sleeping in the back of the car.

“I’m going to treat the family to a trip to watch Liverpool to play with my winnings as we haven’t been for years.”
