The store, which is run by the Watches of Switzerland Group, welcomed shoppers for the first time this week after lockdown restrictions were eased on Monday.

Styled with an urban loft concept, its exposed brick walls and graffiti artwork signify a departure from the usual aesthetic found within the luxury retail sector.

Gavin Murphy, Breitling’s UK managing director, said: “As the cultural and creative hub of the UK, Glasgow represents the perfect location for our first boutique in Scotland and marks a significant milestone as we expand Breitling’s accessibility across the UK.

“Designed as an industrial loft with an informal, cool aesthetic, our customers can feel completely relaxed and at home with our innovative boutique approach and unhurried atmosphere.”

The watch collections are showcased in bookcase-like display cases, where customers can see watches from the Chronomat, Navitimer and Premier ranges, The Herald reports.

The watch selection includes limited-edition timepieces such as the Premier Watches of Switzerland Limited Edition, which launched last year as a celebration of the two brands’ longstanding partnership.

Craig Bolton, executive director of the Watches of Switzerland Group, added: “We are very pleased to be partnering again with Breitling, opening this stunning boutique in Glasgow,” said Craig Bolton, executive director of the Watches of Switzerland Group.

“It will be a superb addition to Glasgow’s retail scene and a perfect environment to welcome our clients to, whether they are current devotees or new to the brand.”

The Watches of Switzerland Group is the UK’s largest luxury watch retailer and already has a presence on Buchanan Street with its Rolex showroom positioned at the top of the shopping thoroughfare.

Mappin & Webb, which has a store in Argyll Arcade just off Buchanan Street, is also owned by the prestigious group.
