EY has announced the appointment of Tricia Nelson as UK & Ireland managing partner - People Advisory Services (PAS) with immediate effect.

In her new role, Glasgow-based Ms Nelson will lead the firm’s People Consulting strategy, working closely with all EY’s service lines to support and work with clients to address some of the most complex people challenges businesses have faced in a generation.

The fundamental reconfiguration of the global business landscape during the last 12 months has driven complex issues around people agendas. EY’s UK & Ireland PAS team has supported clients on a broad range of issues with global mobility, reshaping the work environment to flex with new demands, restructuring and transactions, and the adoption of new technologies all identified as top priorities for business leaders.

Tricia Nelson said: “The global pandemic has fundamentally changed the way businesses operate and how we all work and live. The social impact and economic fall-out has been significant, and how businesses respond to this crisis, as well as Brexit, will be crucial in supporting economic recovery and prosperity.

“Organisations need to become much more adaptable to rapid change – and they need their people to be flexible and agile, at a time when it is getting more challenging to source, manage, motivate and retain talent while controlling costs.

“EY PAS plays a critical role in working with and advising businesses on these complex issues. By driving the integration of people, technology and innovation we are delivering better outcomes for our clients and society.”

Ms Nelson has had a diverse career spanning 25 years, having been with EY for over a decade. With a passion for people and diversity, Tricia served as Talent Leader for EY’s Advisory Consulting Business and has helped many organisations create a more diverse and inclusive culture. Prior to that she worked in both the public and private sector, across people, talent and change management roles leading and delivering multi-year complex programmes.

Tricia Nelson added: “I am excited by this opportunity to lead and work with a hugely talented and ambitious team of 900 professionals, helping our clients to navigate today’s unprecedented challenges that will position them for future growth. Our business has seen strong demand for our services and I am looking forward to driving the next chapter in our ambitious growth journey.”
