Kathleen Ross, 40, worked for accountancy business Benham Conway and Co who handled the books for Campbell McWilliams.

Glasgow Sheriff Court heard that as a result of the fraud, Miss Campbell required to dissolve her company in February 2020 and faced a period of financial uncertainty.

Ms Ross, of Netherlee in Glasgow, now faces likely jail time after she admitted embezzling a total of £253,966 between February 2014 and July 2018.

Sheriff Sean Murphy QC bailed first offender Ross who will reappear for sentencing next month following reports.
