And finally... crumbs

Drivers in Derbyshire have been obstructed by hundreds of McVitie’s biscuits, as a lorry driver spilt a delivery of the biscuits across a main road.

Derbyshire constabulary were called to Ilkeston Road, in Sandiacre, at about 4.30pm on Monday after the road and pavement were strewn with Ginger Nuts and Bourbon Creams.

A rescue operation for the biscuits was completed more than seven hours later, The Guardian reports.

A Derbyshire constabulary spokesperson said: “It took officers a moment to digest the scene in front of them, however, they didn’t crumble and ensured that traffic was able to continue moving nicely.”
