An MP has been mocked on social media after appearing to ask the government how many seven-year-olds are receiving pension credit.
Justin Madders, MP of Ellesmere Port and Neston, tabled a written question regarding the number of people claiming pension credit who were born after April 2016
Laura Trott, MP for Sevenoaks and Under-Secretary of State for Pensions and Financial Inclusion, responded that Pension Credit is only available to those of State Pension age.
She clarified that any individual born post-April 2016 would be, at most, seven years old.
