One of the auctioned items — a neon twitter sign

Twitter’s San Francisco headquarters has auctioned “surplus corporate office assets” during a 27 hour online sale.

Auction house Global Heritage Partners managed the sale, which closed at 10am Pacific Time on Wednesday and charged a buyer’s premium of 18%.

Some of the items sold in the 631 lots included more common items such espresso machines to refrigerators, chairs and couches and miscellaneous modern-day workplace staples like assorted power adapters and other office supplies.

More interesting items included Twitter-specific memorabilia, such as an @-shaped planter sculpture with artificial flowers — sold for $8,250 (£6,680) — and a blue twitter neon sign — sold for $22,500 (£18,220).

And finally... fire sale

Kevin Weil, who was once senior VP of product at Twitter, tweeted: “Wild to see the Twitter office on auction. Board room tables, phone booths, chairs, monitors… even the Twitter bird statue. Great memories from a different era.”
