And finally... handle with care

An early draft of Bob Dylan’s Mr Tambourine man lyrics has sold for $508,000 (c. £416,000) at auction.

The draft was part of a 60-item collection belonging to the late rock journalist Al Aronowitz.

Julien’s Auctions sold the draft as part of its ‘Celebrating Bob Dylan: The Aronowitz Archive, T Bone Burnett & More’ sale on Saturday. Other items included a 1983 Fender Telecaster owned and played by Dylan (sold for $222,250 – c. £182,000), signed handwritten lyrics for “Blowin’ in the Wind” ($44,450 – c. £36,400), and an original oil painting by the singer from 1968 ($260,000 – c. £213,000).

In total, the Aronowitz archive totalled $1.5 million (c. £1.2m) at the auction, which took place at the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville, Rolling Stone reports.
