And finally...TSB customer fury as bank's blunder text tells them they're skint

TSB’s recent IT disasters took a bizarre new twist yesterday when customers were wrongly sent texts telling them they don’t have enough money in their accounts, despite being comfortably in the black.

The bank’s current account customers, who have been forced to endure multiple serious IT problems throughout this year – have been receiving the text messages despite their healthy balances and in some cases multiple times.

The erroneously sent messages tell customers to make an emergency payment into their account that same day to resolve the issue and honour any pending standing orders and direct debit arrangements.

A TSB spokesperson said: “We’re aware that a small number of customers have received a limit text alert from us when their account is in credit.

“We’re working as hard and as fast as we can to resolve the issue and apologise for any inconvenience or confusion this may cause.”

TSB says it’s working to resolve the issue, but for now, if you receive one of the texts and suspect it has been sent in error, check your account or contact TSB’s customer service team on 03459 758 758.
