And finally… worth a shot

A single shot of Macallan whisky was sold for $10,000 at a hotel in Switzerland, its owner has said.
A young, unnamed Chinese man paid up for a glass of the Scottish distiller’s 1878 whisky in the luxury Waldhaus Hotel in St. Moritz.
Owner Sandro Bernasconi told 20 Minuten that he never expected to open this particular bottle from the hotel’s 2,500-bottle whisky collection.
He said he “told the customer that the most expensive Macallan was not for sale”, but the customer persisted.
Mr Bernasconi eventually called his father, who ran the hotel for 20 years, who advised him to sell the shot.
The hotel has suggested it may drop the price in order to sell the rest of the bottle.
However, after news of the sale went viral, whisky experts urged the hotel to test the contents of the bottle in order to confirm that it is not a fake.
Mr Bernasconi said the $10,000 would be returned to the Chinese guest if the bottle turns out to be fake.
