And finally…Bank of Scotland seeks runners

Bank of Scotland is on the lookout for a runner from every local authority area in Scotland to take part in a challenge.

The lender wants the volunteers to take on a 10-weeks-to-10k running challenge before completing a run in Glasgow at the end of September.

For the first time last year, individuals across Scotland were encouraged to apply for a place in the Bank of Scotland Great Scottish Run Community Challenge, with the aim to have each of the 32 Scottish Local Authorities represented on the 10k start line.

The Community Challenge is open to new and existing runners across Scotland who, if selected, will receive complimentary entry for the 10k event, a personalised training programme by a Great Run expert coach to support them on their own personal journey and access to the VIP area at the finish line.

In return participants are required to fully commit to the Community Challenge, supply training updates and take part in media and promotional activity connected with both the Bank of Scotland Great Scottish Run and the Community Challenge.

To apply to be part of the Community Challenge, prospective applicants should contact communitychallenge@greatscottishrun.com to tell them in up to 100 words about themselves, what has inspired them to take up the challenge and start running, and which Local Authority they would be representing.

Closing date for applications is midnight on 21st May.

The Community Challenge selection panel will then make their decision with successful participants being informed on or before 28th May.
