And finally…clean sweep

If you are putting off a much-needed cleaning of your house then this story might inspire you.

The onerous chore has proven to be very lucrative indeed for Joemel Panisa from the American state of Oregon who last week when he stumbled across a year-old winning lottery ticket worth $1 million after he decided to get on with the onerous chore while holed-up during a snowstorm.

Mr Panisa had bought the Mega Millions ticket for the Oregon Lottery from a local mini market on January 15, 2016, according to the state’s lottery agency.

But on returning to his home in the town of Logsden, he placed it inside an envelope in his home office and totally forgot about it for almost 12 months.

And it seems Mr Panisa’s sudden decision to tidy-up came just in the nick of time as the ticket was set to expire just eight days after its rediscovery.

According to local reports, the severe weather didn’t stop Mr Panisa dashing out and claiming his winnings that very same day.
