Andy Murray’s luxury hotel posts first profit since 2022
Sir Andy Murray’s five-star Cromlix Hotel has returned to profitability following two consecutive years of losses.
Located near the former Wimbledon champion’s hometown of Dunblane, the luxury establishment posted a profit of £193,379 for the financial year ending 31 March 2025. This marks a significant turnaround from the substantial losses reported in the previous two years, with the business last recording a profit in 2022.
The latest accounts filed with Companies House reveal a strengthened balance sheet, with net current liabilities reducing from £1.8 million to £1.6m and cash reserves increasing significantly to over £610,000. Mr Murray originally purchased the Victorian mansion for approximately £2m in 2013. The venue recently closed its doors on 4 January to facilitate major renovations, including the construction of two new restaurants, a wellness facility, and three additional suites, with a reopening scheduled for May.
Beyond hospitality, Mr Murray maintains a diverse investment portfolio, including stakes in Game4padel, TMRW Sports, and Fuel Ventures. He also holds an interest in the Manchester-based sportswear brand Castore. Although Castore recently reported a pre-tax loss of £28.8m for the year ending February 2024, down from the previous year’s £14.6m profit, the company saw turnover surge to £190.3m and remains a potential contender for a future London stock market listing.
