Aon elevates Glasgow talent with two key promotions in responsible investment and insurance brokerage

Jennifer O'Neill

Global professional services firm Aon plc has made two key promotions in its Glasgow-based team.

Jennifer O’Neill is a senior leader in Aon’s Responsible Investment group, which she has helped grow since its inception in 2017. With a background in investment banking and fund management, Ms O’Neill has spent the past six years honing her skills advising institutional clients in their approach to responsible investment. She has now been promoted to partner.

Ms O’Neill said: “My role at Aon is undoubtedly varied and this is something I both enjoy and embrace.

“Having the opportunity to work with colleagues throughout the business and with an interesting and unusual mix of clients ensures that while no two days are alike, they are always fun!

“My involvement in the Responsible Investment team provides me with a genuine area of interest and the chance to meaningfully contribute to responsible and sustainable investment at the highest levels. I’m delighted that my promotion to partner will allow me to continue this fascinating journey.”

Daniel Kinlan joined Aon 11 years ago as part of the firm’s first ever apprenticeship scheme and as the only apprentice in Scotland at that time. His career has since progressed, and he is now a chartered insurance broker based in Aon’s Glasgow office. He was recently promoted to the role of client director.

Mr Kinlan said: “Having made the decision to turn down a place at university to embark on an apprenticeship with Aon, my experience over the past 11 years has far exceeded anything I could have hoped for.

“Initially, I was given the opportunity to continue learning, while gaining valuable work experience and, importantly, earning a salary. I’ve since gone on to gain exposure in a wide range of business areas and now hold a level of responsibility that I’d have not imagined possible via this route.

“For anyone considering an apprenticeship, I’d encourage them to go for it, as there’s so much to gain and the support from Aon has been second to none.”
