The deal combines BDO Ireland’s Dublin and Limerick offices with BDO UK’s 17 locations, creating a business with revenues of almost £1.1bn (€1.26bn), around 8,500 employees and approximately 500 partners.

The enlarged organisation will operate as BDO LLP, with Mark Shaw continuing as managing partner and Brian McEnery as regional managing partner in Ireland.

Shaw said the merger would increase the firm’s scale and capability as client needs evolve and demand for international collaboration grows, while McEnery said it would provide clients with access to a broader network of specialists across the UK and Ireland.
