Accountancy and business advisory firm BDO has promoted three people to partner in Scotland.

The new partners are Claire Robertson, who joins the consulting, risk & outsourcing team; Ally Rolland, who joins the business restructuring team; and Craig Goold, who joins the deals team.

Robertson joined BDO in 2013 and leads the firm’s risk advisory services team in Scotland. She works across a range of sectors, with particular expertise in government and infrastructure. She has more than 20 years’ experience helping public sector clients navigate change.

Rolland specialises in turnaround and restructuring, with around 20 years’ experience helping businesses, lenders and stakeholders navigate periods of uncertainty, stress and financial challenges.

Goold leads BDO’s M&A team in Scotland, advising business owners, founders and management teams on their corporate finance options. He began his career in 2009 and advises entrepreneurs across Scotland and a wide range of sectors.

BDO has promoted 94 people across Scotland, including 46 in Glasgow and 48 in Edinburgh.

Across its UK offices, the firm has promoted more than 2,200 people, including 29 new partners across its audit, tax, consulting, risk & outsourcing and deals business areas. The partner promotions take effect from November 1, 2026.

Almost a third of the newly promoted partners nationally are based outside London, while 35% are women. BDO said the figures support its commitment to achieving a 30% female partnership by the end of 2030 as a signatory to HM Treasury’s Women in Finance Charter.

Mark McCluskey, regional managing partner at BDO in Scotland, said: “We are a people-powered business, with a strong commitment to attracting, developing, engaging and retaining talented individuals, by giving them the opportunity to learn, grow and unlock their potential.

“As we continue to grow as a firm and in Scotland, we remain committed to helping people succeed within an inclusive and supportive environment. The latest round of promotions reflects that focus, and I want to congratulate each and every individual on their achievements this year.”
