Brooks Macdonald supports Spartans Community Football Academy’s ‘Making Magic Memories’ programme

Scottish-based investment management firm Brooks Macdonald is proud to support The Spartans Community Football Academy’s youth work programme, ‘Making Magic Memories’, which takes place over the summer holiday.

The programme, led by The Spartans CFA’s youth work team, provides new opportunities for young people aged from 7-18 years to participate in sport, physical activity and recreational activities around Scotland. For many of the participants it may be the first time they have travelled beyond Edinburgh.

The focus of the academy’s youth work is to support young people through outreach programmes in the local community, delivering positive social impact through the power of people and sport. Previous activities have included trampolining, wake-boarding and go karting, as well as day trips to the Time-Capsule water park and Hampden Park to watch the national team.

Robin McAdam, senior investment director, head of Scotland Office at Brooks Macdonald, said: “We are proud to support The Spartans CFA’s ‘Making Magic Memories’ programme. As a business, Brooks Macdonald strongly believes in giving back to our local community and we are delighted to help The Spartans CFA continue its work to deliver programmes and initiatives that have a lasting positive social impact in North Edinburgh.”

Douglas Samuel, chief executive, The Spartans Community Football Academy, added: “We are very grateful to Brooks Macdonald for their support. This will enable us to provide a truly memorable experience for 30-40 children, many of whom would not get the opportunity otherwise to venture outside North Edinburgh.

“Support from local businesses is vital to enable us to deliver our range of youth work and education programmes and offer new opportunities for young people in North Edinburgh. With your help we are changing lives for the better.”

Since opening its office in Scotland in 2009, the team at Brooks Macdonald has provided investment management services to professional advisers, private clients, trusts and charities throughout Scotland and Northern Ireland. It has evolved into a thriving business and now employs 14 members of staff, headed by Robin McAdam, who joined the firm in 2009.
