Scores of leaders from the world’s biggest companies have confirmed their attendance at Scotland’s Global Investment Summit in Edinburgh next week.

The delegates, whose firms have a combined market capitalisation of well over £400billion, come from giants of global investment such as Morgan Stanley, Blackrock and Mizuho Financial Group.

Major UK investors such as Lloyds Banking Group, Barclays and Phoenix Group have also confirmed their attendance, as have representatives from global sovereign wealth and pension funds.

Other UK firms are also heavily involved, including Royal Bank of Scotland, who are hosting delegates at the summit itself.

In total, more than 250 delegates are expected to attend the summit, which is taking place on October 6 and 7 and will promote investment in Scotland’s world-leading financial services, life sciences and energy sectors.

SFE chief executive Sandy Begbie CBE said: “Excitement is really building for this summit, with a long list of high-profile guests already announced, and more to follow in the coming days.

“Right from the start, we have been determined to ensure the investment summit attracts the biggest companies and investors in the world, and we are delighted to see so many representatives from significant global firms in attendance.

“Scotland’s Global Investment Summit will promote investment in Scotland’s financial services, life sciences and energy, and we are excited to showcase these world-leading sectors to investors.”

Minister for Investment Jason Stockwood said: “Scotland is a powerhouse for foreign direct investment, and this Summit will zero in on the country’s world-leading strengths in sectors like life sciences and financial services to help drive growth and create good jobs as part of our Plan for Change.

“With world-class AI research and a rapidly expanding clean energy base - backed by the UK’s modern Industrial Strategy - Scotland is well-positioned to attract the next wave of net zero and AI-driven investment and innovation.”
