Edinburgh-based accountancy firm Chiene + Tait (C+T) has enhanced its business technology service offering with the launch of a new Digital Division.

The service, part of the firm’s Business Support Department, caters for all types of clients, including charities and a wide range of SMEs, to help them take advantage of the efficiencies and opportunities presented by developments in technology.

It will offer advice and support in areas including HMRC’s Making Tax Digital programme, open banking solutions and the wider financial eco-system of integrated solutions. It will also offer guidance for clients looking to enhance their internal management information reporting, by carrying out process efficiency reviews.

The Digital Division will be led by Business Support Manager Allan Davidson. Utilising existing resources across C+T’s offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness, the firm is also in the process of recruiting new talent to support the new development.

Carol Flockhart, managing partner at Chiene + Tait, said: “With technology playing an increasingly important role in the success of businesses and organisations, clients need great advice on the best software solutions that will help them maximise growth.

“The new Digital Division harnesses our collective knowledge of accounting technology and our in-depth experience across many key sectors. This expertise will be applied to deliver tailored financial systems to suit their long term needs as their business evolves.”
