Perth-based insurance broker Clark Thomson saw its profits more than double in its first year under new ownership with Jelf.

The company was obtained by Jelf in May 2018 and has since been rebranded as Marsh Commercial.

The firm provides insurance broking services to small and medium-sized businesses (SME’s).

In files lodged with Companies House, it has been revealed that the company has seen sales reach £12 million for the year ending April 30th 2019, marking a £1.85m profit.

This is a substantial increase from the previous year, where the company had revenues of only £12.2m and a pre-tax profit of £860,000.

In July last year, Jelf reported that Clark Thomson had returned to profit and in September, Jelf reported that its acquisition of the insurance broker had boosted the company’s growth and brought a host of new jobs for senior figures within the organisation.
