Accountancy and business advisory firm CT has appointed Anthony Gillham as a new partner, signalling a significant step in its growth strategy across both Scotland and England.
Mr Gillham will divide his time between CT’s head office in Edinburgh and a new base in Newcastle, reinforcing support for Scottish clients while spearheading expansion efforts in England, particularly within new sectors.
With specialist expertise in infrastructure funds and renewable energy clients, his appointment brings high level corporate experience to the firm’s expanding audit team.
A native of Durham, Mr Gillham began his accountancy career in Edinburgh with Whitelaw Wells in 2011. He joined RSM UK four years later, spending time in both the Edinburgh and Newcastle offices, where he was promoted within the audit team.
Outside of work, Mr Gillham is a trustee of Feeding Families, a charity supporting people experiencing food poverty in the North East of England. While in Scotland, he also volunteered as a student mentor for the ICAS Foundation, supporting aspiring accountancy students.
For over 140 years, CT has built a track record of success amongst its growing client base while remaining proudly independent. Earlier this year, the firm expanded its Glasgow office further highlighting its ongoing investment in Scotland and its growth ambitions within the Scottish and wider UK market.
Mr Gillham said: “I’m excited to join CT’s impressive audit team and be part of a firm which has really inspired me through its attitude and ethos towards clients and colleagues.
“I look forward to working with my new colleagues supporting clients in Scotland while also developing new opportunities in the North East of England and across other English regions.”
CT’s head of audit, Barry Truswell, added: “We’re delighted to welcome Anthony as our newest partner, and the first to be based in Newcastle.
“His appointment underlines our ongoing commitment towards Scotland’s economic success through our support of ambitious businesses across the country. Anthony’s skills and experience further strengthen the partnership and complement the leadership of an audit department comprised of more than 50 professionals.
“Over the last five years, the team has focused on developing new talent, building capacity and deepening its commitment to exceptional client delivery. This latest high-level addition to the team will help further drive our growth ambitions.”
