Deloitte considers job cuts at Aberdeen office

Deloitte is considering redundancies at its Aberdeen office as part of a UK-wide review of its internal services teams.
Staff at the firm, which employs nearly 150 people in the city, were briefed this week and have now entered a consultation period. While Deloitte declined to confirm the exact number of roles affected, it described the figure as an “extremely small number”, The Press & Journal reports.
The move is the latest in a series of job cuts for the financial firm, which has 24,000 employees across the UK. In late 2023, Deloitte announced nearly 1,000 redundancies in its advisory divisions, blaming “challenging market conditions”. The company has stated it is looking to redeploy some of the staff impacted by the current review into other roles within the business.
The potential cuts come just months after Deloitte signalled its long-term commitment to Aberdeen by moving into a new city centre office in the Silver Fin building on Union Street.
