Deloitte to form €20bn EMEA powerhouse to combat technological disruption

Deloitte has revealed plans for the creation of a unified Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) firm following a successful partner vote.

Scheduled to launch in June 2026, this regional powerhouse will consolidate 16 participating firms across more than 80 countries. While individual firms will maintain responsibility for their respective local markets, the combined entity will leverage the collective strength of 6,000 partners and 132,000 professionals to drive regional collaboration and generate combined revenues of approximately €20 billion (c. £17.5bn).

The primary objective of this restructure is to counter rapid technological disruption through significant financial backing. Deloitte EMEA plans to deploy more than €1.5bn (c. £1.3bn) in incremental investment over the next four years. These funds are earmarked for high-growth sectors, including generative AI, sovereign cloud capabilities, and bespoke industry solutions designed to help clients navigate volatile global markets.

Richard Houston, the current head of Deloitte UK and North and South Europe, will lead the new unit as chief executive, supported by Volker Krug as deputy chief executive and Sami Rahal as chair.

Global CEO Joe Ucuzoglu described the move as “a historic moment for Deloitte”,

He added: “The EMEA region forms a critical component of the global economy – home to many of the world’s most influential companies, and a key market for multinationals headquartered around the globe.

“Our clients expect leading expertise wherever it is based, alongside seamless cross-border and technology-enabled delivery at speed.

“The creation of Deloitte EMEA will enhance our ability to deliver the very best capabilities to the world’s leading companies.”

Despite a slight dip in revenue to £5.68bn in the UK during the latest financial year, Deloitte has seen an overall rise in profits, signalling a robust foundation for this ambitious expansion.
