Deloitte UK lifts equity partner numbers to record high

Deloitte UK has promoted over 6,000 of its people, including 48 new partners, following a very strong financial performance.

The promotions, up from approximately 5,600 in 2025, come alongside a series of measures designed to reward skills and experience. Average in-grade salaries will rise by 4.2%, a notable increase on the 2.9% awarded in 2025.

Following strong results in FY26, the firm’s bonus pool will also grow by 14% across the business.

Jackie Henry, managing partner, people and purpose at Deloitte UK, said: “We are hugely proud of the role our people play in the firm’s success and pleased to recognise the contribution of our highest performing colleagues with an increase in promotions and bonuses this year.

“This is alongside our existing competitive reward packages and market-leading benefits, including private medical insurance, enhanced family policies, flexible bank holidays and world-class learning and development opportunities.”

The headline figure for many will be the firm’s record number of equity partners. Building on a strategy announced last year to reshape the partnership in support of future growth, Deloitte will convert 68 salaried partners to equity partner on 1 June.

This brings the total number of partners to 1,308, of which 784 are equity partners – the highest annual total since Deloitte LLP was incorporated in 2003.

The 48 new partners are spread across the firm’s business lines, with 15 promoted in technology and transformation, 16 in tax and legal, 10 in strategy, risk and transactions advisory, and seven in audit and assurance.

Of the new cohort, 31% are based outside London, 27% are women and 15% are from an ethnic minority background, including one new partner of black heritage. Over a quarter (29%) work in financial services.

Deloitte also recruited 21 new external hires at partner level during the financial year from June 2025 to the end of May 2026, of which 38% are women and 19% are from an ethic minority background.

Richard Houston, outgoing CEO of Deloitte UK, said: “This significant investment in our people and our partnership reflects a very strong year for our firm and our confidence in the future.

“Amid ongoing geopolitical uncertainty, our clients continue to seek our support as their trust and transformation partner, and we are well positioned to build on our success in the market – both in the UK and across the EMEA region.”

As of today, Darren Graves takes over as CEO of Deloitte EMEA, succeeding Mr Houston. The firm will release its FY26 UK financial results on 30 September 2026.
